Days after brochure scans and images of second-gen Toyota Rush leaked online revealing exterior and interior of the all-new model, Toyota has officially unveiled the seven-seater SUV in Indonesia. Primarily a badge-engineered version of Daihatsu Terios, the new 2018 Toyota Rush will be launched in Indonesia in January next year. The all-new Rush, with cosmetic changes to the exterior, interior and additional kit will be a much better offering than the model it precedes. Changes to the rebadged Daihatsu Teriosinclude new elements on the outside that enhance its visual appearance. That said, the new Rush gets a large, four-slat chrome grille reminiscent of the Innova, LED headlamps and LED DRLs that seem inspired by the India-spec Honda CR-V. For a butch look, Toyota has reworked the bumper that looks meatier and features round fog lamps with rectangular housing. To match up the muscular looks, Toyota has kept the ground clearance at 220mm.
The TRD Sportivo version sits on the top of the carline and gets additional bits such as 17-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels, side-body cladding, Sportivo badges etc. Cabin is enveloped in a dual-tone colour theme and features soft-touch materials. A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that doubles as a display for rear camera will sit inside. It will additionally get USB port, radio, CD player and smartphone connectivity via Miracast and Weblink. Safety brigade will include six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control and hill start assist.

Power on the new Rush comes from the 2NR-VE, 4-cylinder Dual VVT-I petrol engine with 104PS of top power against 136Nm torque. This engine will be coupled to a five-speed manual unit transmitting power to the front wheels. While the Sportivo variant will additionally come with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
Power on the old Rush on the other hand is derived from the 1.5-litre VVT-I engine with 109PS and 141Nm torque. Transmission choices on the first-gen Rush include a 4-speed manual and 5-speed automatic unit. While power is transmitted to the rear wheels and only select variants come with the all-wheel drive option.

In terms of dimensions, the new Toyota Rush 2018 will measure 4,435mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,705mm in height. The 2,685mm long wheelbase ensures there is enough space inside the seven-seat layout cabin.
